About DAS

Founded in Italy in 1963, DAS has become one of the most recognisable names in modelling materials. What began with a single, innovative air-dry clay has grown into a comprehensive range trusted by makers, teachers, designers, and hobbyists around the world. The original DAS clay was created to offer a cleaner, more accessible alternative to traditional modelling materials, and it quickly became a staple in schools, studios, and homes.

Over the decades, the brand has continued to expand its offer. DAS Junior introduced a softer, ready-to-use formulation suited to younger makers, supporting early creative development. The launch of DAS Smart marked the brand’s entry into polymer clay, offering vibrant colours, excellent shape retention, and a strong, oven-hardened finish ideal for jewellery, miniature work, and decorative objects. Alongside these clay ranges, the brand also developed a full suite of accessories, including sculpting tools, moulds, rolling pins, panels, and varnishes, giving makers everything they need to refine detail, add texture, and complete each piece with confidence.

Today, DAS continues to build on its heritage with materials that combine reliability, ease of use, and a careful balance of tradition and innovation. From air-dry and polymer clays to professional-quality tools and accessories, every product is made to support hands-on creativity, whether in classrooms, professional studios, or at the kitchen table.

With more than sixty years of experience, DAS remains committed to helping people shape, model, and explore in ways that feel intuitive and rewarding, backed by a legacy of craftsmanship and continual development.
